Changing of my heart

First let me say, I love ministering to people! I have been blessed to serve people in many countries over the years and I count it all as a gift from God!

The last four years as I have invested in the ministry of Boaz, the focus has been on building local ministry. We have done this by investing hundreds of hours in different communities, mentoring, tutoring, meeting felt needs and genuinely loving those we have been blessed to interact with. I have watched our staff begin new programs and I continue to be filled with joy about all these things as we go forward! Wow, I am genuinely excited for what is ahead here in Fredericton.

Nouwen said this: “Jesus’ whole life and mission involve accepting powerlessness and  revealing in this powerlessness the limitlessness of God’s love.  Here  we see what compassion means.  It is not bending toward the  underprivileged from a privileged position; it is not a reaching out  from on high to those who are less fortunate below; it is not a gesture  of sympathy or pity for those who fail to make it in the upward pull.   On the contrary, compassion means going directly to those people and  places where suffering is most acute and building a home there.” – Henri  Nouwen

Over the last few weeks God has been really speaking to me about my first call into ministry. It was back in 1991 that I was called into full time ministry and that calling was specific, ministry to the nations. MISSIONS! I recently sat at a local Second Cup and felt the Lord speak to me as I meditated on Him. He was showing me it is time to pour into the nations. As I sat there that day and as I write this, tears fill my eyes! My passion for the nations is so strong. I can hardly contain what is rising up in me again. I am genuinely excited for where God is positioning us.

I was driving home that night from the coffee shop and God spoke to my heart!

He said that He was sending me to the nations once again.

I am stepping back from some of the local ministry in order to prepare my heart, mind and body for the months ahead. I know I will be travelling to a number of nations and networking with many people in the nations that love the Lord and could benefit from the ministry of Boaz. Boaz was created to reach hurting teenagers both locally and globally!

I have been emailing back and forth and talking on the phone with a pastor who has a ministry in a country many miles from Fredericton. He has been blessed to open three orphanages in the nation he serves and has been praying for a ministry to come alongside of them to assist in ministering to kids living on the streets of the city they serve in. Our hearts collided and I sense God is leading us to this nation very soon!

Please pray for us as we expand territory and serve the nations through Boaz. I am truly thrilled to see what God has for us and where He leads us!
