I want to introduce you who follow the ministry and mission of Boaz to our first full time overseas missionaries, Chris and Jo-Anne Orlesky And their three children: Ethan, Cohen and Katya!
jo-Anne grew up in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and lived there til she turned 18. Chris grew up in many parts of Alberta and they met in January 2003. They dated and lived in Edmonton until 2008. At the time Chris was serving in the military and Jo was working in a day care. At that point in their lives God was not a part of their life, though they had a belief in Him, just no relationship!
The Orleskys moved to Oromocto in July 2008 and began their lives in the maritimes. In March 2010 after the invitation of friends the Orleskys began to attend church locally. After a short time Jo became a Christian and was baptized in June 2010. A few short months later in October Chris made his decision for Christ and was baptized.
in late 2010 Chris volunteered his time with Boaz at our downtown street outreach for teens. Chris was faithfully involved with us since that time. Jo however was a little harder sell. She was reluctant to do anything more than cook a meal and drop it off at an outreach site. BUT God began to do a work in her heart. In a span of two years, and yes it took two years, Jo decided to come to an outreach night and spend time with the families we serve. This was the beginning of the change in her heart and subsequently the opening for a new change in their lives.
Chris and Jo have both been to Haiti and have fallen for this nation. During Jo’s trip to Haiti in March it became very clear to that God was doing something “supernatural in her life”. As we drove home from that trip I felt to invite Jo to join the Boaz staff and she did so beginning in March 2013. Chris has been so on board with things and in just two days Chris will be leaving the military after 12 years of service. Thank you Chris for serving our country well!
Chris and Jo and their three kids have been faithfully raising support for this new season in their lives and they have presently raised 65% of the support they require to move to Haiti. We have set a target for the Orlesky’s to move to Haiti the end of January, we are trusting God for His provision and for His timing. We are joining them in prayer as they raise their remaining 9,000.00 or so. They have taken a step of faith and we are thrilled to have them be His and our “hands and feet on the ground” in Haiti?
if you would like to support them and help them reach their target, please check out our website at http://www.boazministries.com find the donate tab and make your donation. All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt!
