I am sitting in my office at Boaz and am looking at some of the things on the walls and the white boards that surround me. Here is what I see:
First, there is a painting on my wall that has the words “God will make a away when there seems to be no way”. What a great reminder of who He is and what He can do!
Second, I see another painting and this is one of special girl in Myanmar whose name is Anna. It reminds me of the hope there is if people will get involved and invest their time and money in children at risk of being human trafficked. Anna was rescued from a life destined to be someone’s cash flow.
Third, I see a picture of Paola. Paola is this amazing young lady in Dominican Republic who God allowed my path to cross years ago during my first trip to Dominican. I am blessed to still be involved in her life and have input with her family. Paola needs a touch from God as she is vulnerable to people that might not have her best in mind. I have huge hope for Paola.
Fourth, I see a book on my bookshelf called “Inspire Justice”. This book has been a constant reminder to inspire others to a life that will fight for those who have no voice. Justice is something that we all deserve to have in life, however we know that the reality for many is that they do not have justice. We need to be there voice.
Fifth, on my white board I have two scriptures. One says ” Let us not get tired of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” The second verse has been one that I have leaned on many times, it says ” look at the nations and be amazed. Watch and be astounded at what I will do. For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.”
Finally on my white board is the reminder of the financial challenge we have as we minister to the least of these. Right now the numbers read:
Boaz Apartment $1688
Haiti Land Purchase $118,867
That’s what we need in order to meet our needs financially! But the paintings on the wall, the book on my shelf, the scripture on my whiteboard, my hope for those God has called us to reach and the confidence I have in my God put it all in perspective. The need may be great for a small ministry like Boaz! but we are trusting Him for big things.
