Lately as I have been waiting on God, three thoughts or prompting in my spirit have been prevalent. I sense when God does this that is in preparation for what God has in store.
Before I share I want to express my deepest sympathy to those impacted by the senseless attack on our nations capital. I love our nation and am thankful that God is in control, and that as a believer in Christ I have nothing to fear!
First, He has called me to fast and pray for organizations and churches in need of financial resources, specifically to intercede for breakthrough and a release of funds.
As I have begun to fast and pray and seek God’s face and heart, I am amazed by what he has shown and done. What he showed me was a scripture in 2 Cor 8 which reads:
And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 5 And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us
What has He done? in the last few days without me sharing any of what He has laid on my heart, I have been contacted by three people regarding their churches and non profits to ask for prayer. I have been able to share that I am blessed to fast and pray for them. To these folks and others: Jeff, Matt, Shari, Raj, Mark, Chris and Jo, Aaron and others, God is moving.
Second, I am to prepare for the opportunities He will open up to help churches in various locations to be able to reach their communities for Christ. I believe that great days are ahead for the body of Christ to really engage and meet their neighbours, to build relationships and show them what a sold out Christian really is all about.
Third, I am to prepare to speak in various places about reaching out to and building relationships with at risk teens. I am not sure what it looks like or exactly what He has in mind, but I see those opportunities on the horizon.
I would invite the readers to join me in praying for these three areas that God is moving me into. I am truly excited to see what He has in store! Thanks for your prayers!
