"Sometimes you have so much pain on the inside, you just need to let it out and cry"
These words were spoken yesterday by one of the 10 year old girls who watched as a neighbour and friend sat on the soccer field, sobbing. She knew it was way more than the slight mishap the 11 year old boy had encountered during the soccer game!
To hear these words coming from the mouth and heart of this little girl has really impacted me. She knows this emotion all to well. She has seen it in her friends lives, her families life, her own life.
Each day we have been here it seems new kids and teens are showing up. We continue to feed the kids. We are feeding them because they are so hungry. We have delivered food to families to let them know we see the need and that we care!
There is another hunger that exists here as well. The hunger to be loved and noticed. They are so hungry for someone to sit and talk with them, to play games, to hear their names spoken, to be loved!
The reality is so many of these kids never get to spend time with family. I hear these words often, "I miss talking to my dad." "I hope my dad spends time with me". "I am sad, because I haven't talked to my dad in a long time"
Physical pain is one thing, but emotional pain is so much deeper. That pain is what Lacey was talking about!
We must feed these kids! It is a huge need!
Please partner with us and donate so we can feed these amazing, and often pain filled children!
Matt 25: 44-45 “They, too, will ask, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or as a stranger or in need of clothes or sick or in prison and didn’t help you?’
“He will answer them, ‘I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you failed to do for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do for me.’
